My Message
My experience growing up on an acreage shaped my creative journey. My mediums include printmaking, painting, textiles, and book arts. Currently, I am researching natural color and deriving pigment from plants, some of which I brought from Iowa.
Placing creatures in odd scenarios, I share stories of my connection to the environment with satire, color, and anthropomorphism in response to social oppression. I seek to invoke humor through subjects of my environment to challenge conformity in gender expression. My body of work duels between madness and joy, empowered by queer identity and environment, to characterize human experiences.
